The press
The Muslim Curatory is an independent press publishing nonfiction, fiction, and curriculum for Muslim readers.
We publish across a wide range: persuasive and informational nonfiction, fiction, children's and middle-grade books, and Islamic studies curriculum. Some titles will be written to persuade. Some to teach. Some simply to be read.
What holds the catalog together is a standard rather than a subject. Each book is built to last — claims traced to sources, arguments tested against lived experience, and prose that respects the reader's time.
The press is deliberately slow and the catalog deliberately small. We would rather publish a few books that hold up than many that do not.
How a book is made
Titles are produced under The Muslim Curatory imprint. The author retains editorial control, and each book is developed through planning and research, drafting, a four-stage editing pass, and a production stage covering cover, interior, and metadata.
Books are currently published through Amazon and are available in paperback and ebook. Wider distribution may follow, inshallah.
About the author
Amir Khidhir Naeem has spent more than twenty years in Muslim community work — as a teacher, khatib, youth director, and program manager, and in pastoral and administrative service at the community level. He first joined a masjid board at eighteen. Since then he has taught Islamic studies, built curriculum, run youth and community programming, served in prison outreach, and worked alongside families through every stage of community life.
He holds a Master of Arts in Islamic Studies from the International Open University and a Bachelor of Science in English Language from Eastern Michigan University.
